Surgery on a Bear

What can you do when faced with a favourite bear that's gotten a bit worn.  I am not sure whether he is eleven now but he has been a close companion to my nephew for as long as I can recall.  He's very well loved and has been stitched a couple of times.  Now his replacement tummy has worn a bit thin so in my best auntie mode I have volunteered to take Buttons to the doctor.

Here is Buttons after his replacement tummy has been removed, you can see his previous surgery scars.  Don't worry the anaesthetic hasn't worn off.

Next step was to remove his foot patches before they fell off, but a quick photo meant I should be able to place the patch stitches reasonably well.

His replacement tummy had been dark brown so I decided to stick with that.  Here is Buttons in recovery after a successful surgery.  He will be able to go home tomorrow for more happy adventures as a best loved bear.

Now I'm off to Handmade Harbour http://handmadeharbour.blogspot.co.uk/2013/11/handmade-monday-143.html to see what everyone has been up to.  See you there.
